Your Impact Matters

Sometimes we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Human trafficking is a global issue with millions of victims affected every year. We don’t always feel like we can individually make a difference and find a solution to what has damaged countless lives.

Through the efforts of organizations like Alabaster Jar Project, there is hope. And YOU are a part of that hope!

Fighting trafficking can take the time, effort, and the support of an entire community. Our organization began as a small church ministry. Members of the church had the same heart for survivors as you did, so they took steps to serve survivors here in San Diego. We delivered emergency supplies to survivors from the trunks of our cars. Some of these supplies were donated from people like you! All the while, we did our best to raise money to expand our services, by hosting events to which many of you came. Through these efforts, we were able to open an apartment and a Drop In Resource Center. Then, in 2016, we began renting a home to provide long-term housing for survivors of trafficking.

In addition to participating in our events, it does not go unrecognized when many of you donate your time and skills. As we are still a growing organization, many key positions at AJP are held by volunteers in our community. Volunteers act as tutors for Grace House students, career counselors, repairmen, volunteer coordinators, grant writers, and many more important roles, not to mention everyone who comes out to several “serve-days” we host every year.

Now we are at the threshold of some very important goals. We are still working towards providing positive employment to Grace House Residents through Restore Body Care products, and we also have closed escrow on a permanent home for Grace House. We did not do that alone! Thank you to everyone who came together to make this happen, and who are continuing to help prepare the house for Grace House Residents to move in, and raise funding to own the home outright.

We share with you about our humble beginnings, all the way to the present day, in order to recognize YOU for being a part of that. As we always say, we couldn’t have done all of that work without you, and we continue to thrive because of your support. Every time you show up to our events, share about us, give, donate your time... You are making a difference in the lives of survivors. Alabaster Jar Project is a community effort. YOU are Alabaster Jar Project.
